LIVING ON THE RIVER

Husband and wife team Cathy Barton and Dave Para, perform traditional songs of the Missouri river valley. Cathy sings and plays banjo, hammer'd dulcimer, autoharp, piano and mouthbow. Dave sings and plays guitar and bones.

THE MUSICK MASTER'S COMPANION

"Musick for Harpsichord & Dulcimer"

The Musick Master's Companion, CD coverPerform'd by R.P. Hale

This "selection of musick from the 16th through the 18th centuries," writes R.P., is "respecktfully Dedicated to All Puritans, in the fond & ernest Hope that they May be Cured of That Afflicktion." R.P. refuses to take himself seriously, and insists that music be played for fun.

After listening to this CD, it is impossible to disagree with him. The instrumentals are perfectly performed but the result is pure enjoyment. R.P. may not take himself seriously, but the rest of us must be more than a little impressed by this Renaissance man who performs, teaches and builds both harpsichords and hammer'd dulcimers.

To order this or other CDs, contact R.P. Hale, Musick-Master and Harpsichord-Maker, 59 Penacook Street, Concord, NH 03301. Phone 603 225-7516

Sam Rizzetta exercises his prodigious talent with this CD of entirely his own compositions. Primarily instrumentals, this is an album that should become a classic. The music is original and spirited.
